Accessibility Resource Office

The Accessibility Resource Office provides accommodations to students experiencing barriers due to diagnoses including but not limited to ADHD, learning disabilities, chronic medical conditions, psychiatric conditions, vision impairments, and hearing impairments. The Accessibility Resource Office also coordinates accommodations for students with temporary diagnoses including but not limited to concussions, broken bones, and post-surgery recovery. Accommodations are not retroactive, and we encourage students with (dis)abilities to register for and/or request renewal of accommodationsprior to the start of the semester. Students are required to complete an annual renewal of accomodations process by submitting an updated Accessibility Resource Office | Intake Application.

Student Counseling Center

Students seek our assistance for a variety of reasons. Some of these areas include: difficulties adjusting to college life, struggling with depression, anxiety, difficult relationships, body image concerns, sexuality issues, identity problems, trauma, and substance abuse issues.  At the SCC we are here to help you develop the skills needed to be healthy happy Sycamores.

Office of Equal Opportunity and Title IX

The Office of Equal Opportunity and Title IX supports the University by providing all members of the community with educational opportunities, programs, and trainings that ensure the University’s compliance with applicable federal, state, and University equal opportunity, nondiscrimination, harassment, and civil rights laws, regulations, and policies.  Our staff works with faculty, staff, and students who believe they may have been subjected to prohibited harassment or discrimination in violation of the University's policies and provides assistance to University administrators working to resolve concerns in their areas.

Title IX Coordinator

Indiana State has designated a Title IX Coordinator who has the authority to investigate allegations of sex discrimination and sexual harassment, including sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking as prohibited by federal and state law. The Title IX Coordinator may appoint deputy Title IX investigators, as necessary, to fulfill the obligations of the Title IX Coordinator as required by this policy. The Title IX Coordinator is also responsible for providing training to members of the ISU community regarding the application and implementation of policies and procedures related to Title IX and the Campus SAVE Act. All questions and concerns regarding Title IX can be directed to the Title IX Coordinator.

Ombudsperson: Student Concerns

Indiana State University provides a variety of ways students can find support. On occasion, traditional avenues used to meet student needs pose challenges. When traditional efforts fail to resolve problems and address concerns, students can turn to the University's Ombudsperson's office.

The Ombudsperson can provide appropriate guidance to assist you in dealing with problems you might experience with the University’s rules and regulations.

Student Health Center

All undergraduate and graduate students taking one or more credit hours at Indiana State and ISU current employees are eligible to receive services at the Health Center. Students must present a valid University ID card upon arrival.

The Health Center accepts private insurance and participates in many insurance plans. Students should bring their insurance card in addition to their University ID card. However, payment of the plan co-payments is expected at the time of service. Any balance left unpaid by the insurance company will be sent to the person listed as guarantor. We accept the Associated Insurance Plan, private insurance, cash, check or credit cards.

Student Support and Accountability

Student Support and Accountability (SSA) is the primary office responsible for student support (Student Support and Cares), conflict resolution, and addressing alleged violations of the Code of Student Conduct (Code). The staff of SSA have a significant amount of experience coaching students who find themselves involved in conflict, serving as a resource for student struggling to connect, as well as guiding student behavior prior to, and after, a conduct violation occuring. SSA encourages responsible and respectful community behavior; focusing on student rights’, responsibilities’, fairness, honesty, and personal growth. Students are encouraged to embrace the “Sycamore Standard” in how they conduct themselves during their time at Indiana State University.

The Code of Student Conduct (Code) contains policies governing the behavior of all students and student organizations at Indiana State University. The Code outlines the rights and responsibilities of students, behavioral expectations, prohibited conduct, and an overview of the conduct process. Definitions for terminology as well as acronyms used throughout the Code may be found in Appendix A.
