For broader projects on coronaviruses, you may wish to download and search the CORD-19 dataset.

Fast Facts about LitCovid

  • All records originated from the PubMed database
  • The search used to retrieve relevant records from PubMed was
    "coronavirus"[All Fields] OR "ncov"[All Fields] OR "cov"[All Fields] OR "2019-nCoV"[All Fields] OR "COVID-19"[All Fields] OR "SARS-CoV-2"[All Fields]
    • Be aware that other search strings exist, too, and are used by health science librarians to search for COVID-19 relevant research. There is not one correct way to search and there is always a balance between specificity and precision when conducting a search.
  • There is no Advanced Search in LitCovid. To conduct an Advanced Search, use the Advanced Search in PubMed and start with the search string above to limit to relevant articles.
  • Tabs just below the Search Box are preprogrammed to narrow down the search. The Tabs are: 
    • General [Information]
    • Mechanism [of Action]
    • Transmission
    • Diagnosis
    • Treatment
    • Prevention
    • Case Report
    • Forecasting
  • LitCovid uses Boolean operators but the default is OR. (Most databases default to AND.
  • LitCovid does not include preprints because PubMed does not include preprints.
  • You may download results in RIS for may in order to import them into EndNote or another bibliographic management software.
