CSE Style Guide: Newspaper Article

Citation style tips based upon the Scientific Style and Format: The CSE Manual for Author, Editors and Publishers, 7th edition, 2006.

Newspaper article

References to articles in newspapers are similar to those for journal articles with these exceptions:

  • Names of newspapers are never abbreviated (a leading "The" may be dropped).
  • If the newspaper title does not indicate the publication location, add the location in or after the title.
  • Section infomation replaces volume and issue information (for print).
  • Column location is added (for print).
