Library: Updates & Information [COVID-19]: Home

Updates to library services and resources as we continue to make adjustments to provide services, access and instructional support.

Message from Dean of Library Services

MARCH 17, 2022

The Library will be decommissioning much of the information appearing on this page in the very near future. Born March 19, 2020, for two years this site has been maintained and updated and has appeared as a RED notice/link on the Library's homepage. That homepage announcement has been removed and hopefully the Covid-19 situation will continue improve such that we will not have to bring this information to the forefront once more. The guide will continue to be available via the list of research guides until further notice.

APRIL 25, 2022

Indiana State University will take additional steps to emerge from the pandemic by ending certain COVID policies and protocols starting Friday, April 29.

The policies and protocols that will end:

  • Contact tracing by the university. (Students, faculty, and staff who are experiencing COVID symptoms, have a positive test result, or have been in close contact with a positive case should complete the Sycamore Symptom Assessment and isolate in accordance with CDC guidelines and notify close contacts.)

  • COVID testing requirements for those who have not submitted proof of vaccination.

  • The COVID dashboard that reports the numbers of people in isolation and quarantine.

  • COVID sick bank contributions where employees could donate unused sick time to colleagues.

  • Employees can contact Human Resources at 812-237-4114 for more information and find FAQs here.

  • Students can contact the Office of the Dean of Students at 812-237-3829 for more information and find FAQs here.

  • Masks remain optional.

  •  The university will continue to carefully monitor public health guidance and make changes to COVID policy as necessary, including potentially reinstating some of the policies and protocols ending Friday

EDUROAM FREE CAMPUS WIFI [added April 13]

Now available: special campus WIFI access via EDUROAM: Faculty, staff, and students may now access a service called <Eduroam> to access the Internet from dedicated locations worldwide. In essence, Eduroam gives a person “guest” access to another university’s network using their ISU credentials. Eduroam access is a pass-through to the Internet.

For more information on Eduroam – what it is and where you can access it, please read this OIT knowledge base article.

WHERE IS EDUROAM AT ISU: Parking Lot M (southeast corner); Parking Lot Q (southwest corner) M is across from the New Theater, between 7th and 8th. Q is east of M, between 8th and 9th Streets.

Will Eduroam be available after the pandemic is over?  Yes! Please check the knowledge base article linked above. In particular, it contains a map of Eduroam locations worldwide. On future trips around the United States and abroad, you can get WIFI access through Eduroam if you are in one of these locations.

What if you have questions, contact the OIT Technology Support Center by calling 812-237-2910. Current open hours are posted at: https://indstate.edu/oit. The OIT website also offers access to the online service portal and knowledgebase.
