Library Recognition & Awards: Bakerman Award

2025 Award Year

The Bakerman Student Award honors papers submitted by the instructor of record for the class. 

To be eligible, applicants must answer all required questions and submit all required documentation in the Branch by Sunday February 2, 2025 at 2PM. (Detailed questions and required documentation are provided on the "Bakerman Student Award" page linked below.)

Applicants will be responsible for providing a copy of the assignment requirements, submitting a 500-750 word essay on the research/writing process and uploading a copy of the final, course-submitted version of the research paper (with bibliography). They must also request a nomination from the professor who taught the course for which the paper was written.

Faculty nominators will submit a letter of nomination and complete the reference questionnaire.

Scholarship Awards: 

The undergraduate student’s award-winning paper receives $1,000. The graduate student’s award-winning paper receives $1,500. Faculty whose students submit the winning papers receive $250.00. 

*NOTE: All papers submitted must have been written during calendar year 2024.*
