Distance Education students must set up:
Your Sycamore Login and Password gives you access to ISU Library online databases, journals, and e-book collections. It also gives you access to your MyISU Portal for e-mail, online registration, grades, etc.; your personal Web pages; personal network storage; your printing account, if you are on campus; and software downloads.
If you need a Sycamore Login and Password, visit the MyISU Portal, select "Activate Your Sycamore Login," and follow the simple step-by-step instructions.
When accessing ISU Library online resources from off campus, a window will appear asking you to enter your ISU username and password. After entry, the resource will appear.
A Sycamore ID Card is your ISU identification card. You should get a card if you think you might at some point come on-campus to check-out Library materials. Your library barcode number on the front of your ISU ID card begins with either "230" or "217" and is 11 digits long. ID cards of distance education students will include an image of a sycamore leaf instead of a personal photo. To obtain a card, distance education students must contact the Traffic and Parking Services office in person, on the phone, or in an email. The card will be mailed, so do this before you actually need resources. The first card is free. Damaged, lost or stolen cards will be replaced for a charge of $15. Traffic and Parking Services |
To obtain materials through our Interlibrary Loan Service (ILL), you don't have to have an ID card but you do need an ISU ID number, which is part of the Interlibrary Loan registration process. The ISU ID number begins with "991" and should be found on any ISU documentation you have.
The Interlibrary Loan Department provides document delivery and interlibrary loan to distance education students. Interlibrary Loan will process these requests through a system called ILLiad.
First time users must register in the ILLiad system. A valid ISU ID card is required. Do this early before you actually need resources. Please REGISTER NOW. After you've registered, you will access the ILL system with your ISU username and password.
For more information about ISU Library's Interlibrary Loan services, please view the Interlibrary Loan Tab.
Do you have a Library Card from your Local Libraries? Nearby public and academic libraries may have resources useful for your ISU courses. Contact local college and university libraries and ask them if they allow local residents to check out materials. Local public libraries may provide interlibrary loan services to library patrons, too. |
