LOW-LEVEL Topics can be familiar for you and easy to talk about but can be hard to research. Here are some examples of real speech topics from past Comm 101 students:

HIGHER-LEVEL topics are broader in scope; they will have a local point of contact [you were involved; there is a connection to your home town], but there is also a national context, which makes them easier to research. Samples of past topics are:
