Between 2011 and 2018, Mus 150 was the heart of instructional contact for Music. A series of multiple sessions was developed, mostly by Marsha Miller in consultation with Terry Dean. Students completed an in-class exercise related to print resources and an exercise to reinforce use of electronic databases. Those experiences eventually resulted in Miller and Dean contributed a book chapter: Miller, Marsha, Dean, Terry. (2018). Originally a course for music students, curricular changes resulted in students in other disciplines taking the course, and then Mus 150 became Mus 250 and the general connection was lost. However this site will remain and it includes a PDF file of all 6 Print exercises and the list of books that were pulled for that session, a copy of the Electronic Resources exercise, and an email sent to the students to remind them of everything they had learned and therefore should know how to use in the future. This resource guide is designed to support the instruction of students in Music 150 - Introduction to Music Traditions. Each tab references specific lectures presented in class to Music 150 students by the library's music liaison. The information contained within is basic information detailing resources that may prove useful in the research and development of the music appreciation articles assigned for students of this course.
