Applied Medicine & Rehabilitation: General Info

Students are studying Athletic Training, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Physician Assistant. Several programs are graduate-level only. Students need information from all major medical resources and from the SportDiscus database.

Students taking ATTR 110 (Introduction to Health Professions) may need to find peer-reviewed journal articles. They may have had a presentation by a librarian.

Applied Medicine & Rehabilitation: Tips

They may be doing short papers on Health Professions. Consult the Careers LibGuide for resources. Students should always start career research with the Occupational Outlook Handbook.

While it is common for students to need 'peer-reviewed' articles, these students may need to look for specific types of articles: case reports, comparative studies, controlled clinical trial, meta-analysis, randomized controlled trial, etc. MEDLINE and CINAHL have specific lists of these kinds of articles. You can help students set PUBLICATION TYPE and/or DOCUMENT TYPES to retrieve very specific kinds of articles.
