Usage Policies

All of our Special Collections materials are non-circulating. This means that they are used in the Reading Room during posted hours or by prior arrangement. There are a few guidelines for the researcher:

  • Please sign the register when you come to the Reading Room with your name and the date.
  • No food or drink is allowed in the Reading Room.
  • Do not write on materials, or write on paper laid on the materials.
  • Only pencils and writing pads or personal laptop computers may be used for taking notes.
  • Bags, briefcases, and other allowed personal items are to be kept on the floor.
  • Please handle the materials carefully, as many of the items are very fragile.
