Mentoring Center

The Mentoring Center connects any student, regardless of major, background, or class standing, to a mentor who can help them develop professionally, academically, and personally. We also support mentoring for and by faculty through a partnership with the Faculty Center for Teaching Excellence (FCTE).

What is a mentor exactly? Mentoring relationships are all unique and can take on many different forms, but the fundamental role of mentors is to be a support. A mentor is someone to talk to who can also provide guidance about navigating college and life in general. Mentors can provide insight into ISU; connect you to the campus, additional resources, and the community; and help you identify and achieve career goals.

How can you find a mentor? You can request a peer mentor through the Mentoring Center here. You will then take an online survey that will be used to match you with one of our trained peer mentors based on common interests, background, academic and professional aspirations, or based on what’s important to you.

Cunningham Memorial Library

The library is a great place to get a cup of coffee and a snack at Cup & Chaucer.  You can choose from 5 floors to find a comfortable place to study.

The library has single and group study rooms available for students to use.  Request a room at the Circulation Desk on the first floor of the library.

Librarians can help you locate materials for assignments; they can also meet with you to help you develop a research strategy and locate resources for your assignments.

Academic integrity

Academic integrity is a cornerstone of the University's commitment to the principles of free inquiry. Students are responsible for learning and upholding ethical, professional standards in research, writing, assessment. Faculty must clearly outline expectations for ethical behavior with students & provide supportive measures. Academic departments and colleges should uniformly follow current guidelines and procedures, from reporting & documenting violations up to and including due process. At the request of the University, and in collaboration with other areas, the Indiana State University Library has created this web site to provide a resource clearinghouse for both students and educators.** Teaching faculty and others are urged to contribute materials and links to this site.
