African American Cultural Center

he Charles E. Brown African American Cultural Center is responsible for developing and providing opportunities for African-American students to involve themselves in creating, innovating, designating, and deciding cultural programs relevant to them. It is further responsible for promoting positive identification, association, and relationship to African-American historical and contemporary culture. The Charles E. Brown African American Cultural Center creates a learning environment conducive for students, administrators, faculty members, and citizens of the Terre Haute community to understand, recognize, and appreciate the contributions made by African-American people.

Women's Resource Center

The Women's Resource Center (WRC) strives to empower, educate, and create a safe space for people of all gender identities and expressions.  WRC supports the inclusiveness of women across campus and within the community. The mission of the Women's Resource Center is to recognize the diverse accomplishments, promote the interests, and help meet the needs of women at Indiana State University.  This is accomplished by providing a forum for discussion, information dissemination, and programming that celebrates and promotes women and their allies.

WRC’s educational content addresses all issues of gender, relationship, and sexual diversity. Our programs comes from a place of intersectionality, understanding that issues of gender cannot be separated from other social identities, such as race, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, etc.

La Casita Resource Center

La Casita Student Resource Center is a space for those interested in learning more about the Hispanic and Latin cultures. La Casita will work closely with the Hispanic Latino Alliance student organization.

Campus Life

Welcome to the Office of Campus Life & the Linda Eldred Student Leadership Center! We bring L.I.F.E to our students through Leadership, Involvement, Foundation, and Experience. Our office promotes leadership development initiatives such as the leadership certificate program, encourages campus involvement through our 200+ student organizations, allows students to begin their foundation through networking opportunities with faculty and staff, and creates experiences for students to enjoy and build community among their peers through the 50+ programs and events we organize. Campus Recreation

The Office of Campus Recreation is comprised of student employees and recreational professionals within the Division of Student Affairs. The department provides access to facilities and recreational activities to the campus community, which enhance the Indiana State University experience.

The Campus Recreation department is housed in the Student Recreation Center on the north side of Indiana State University's campus. The SRC accommodates varying types of recreational activities accessible to students, faculty, staff, and eligible members.

LGBT Student Resource Center

The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Resource Center provides resources, services, and programs for students that may have questions pertaining to the lives of LGBT students or students that already identify as LGBT and are looking for a safe space. The center is designed to create a safe, inclusive Indiana State University community regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity and/or gender expression. The Center will actively collaborate with the Spectrum student organization.

Spectrum is a student-led organization at Indiana State University that endeavors to provide a place of safety and confidentiality for all who fall somewhere along the spectrum of gender and/or sexual identities, as well as allies. The organization desires to serve as a campus resource for issues related to gender and sexuality. They also strive to create a welcoming environment that provides a network of support and friendship for students, staff, faculty, and Terre Haute community members.

Fraternity & Sorority Life

The mission of the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life at Indiana State University is to serve as an advocate and resource for the fraternity and sorority community. We provide our students with opportunities for personal growth, leadership development, and support in their pursuit of academic excellence which adds value to the student's holistic collegiate experience.

Fraternities and sororities encourage leadership growth, academic excellence, and pride in campus activities. Indiana State University's fraternities and sororities serve the campus community through leadership positions, involvement in on-campus activities, dedication to academics, and engaging in philanthropic and community service endeavors.

Office of Multicultural Services and Programs (MSP)

MSP Mission

Opened October 1, 2015, the Office of Multicultural Services and Programs was created to advocate across various vectors to grow Indiana State University into a model of multicultural excellence for all who learn, live, and work on campus. MSP strives to build a climate of inclusion and community and aim to enhance intercultural competency through workshops, services, resources, programs, and influencing ISU policies and practices.

MSP Goals

• Ally with and support students in marginalized communities
• Assist in the retention and graduation of multicultural students by fostering a sense of community through intellectual, social, and cultural exchange
• Provide and promote safe spaces for challenging dialog about students' experiences and concerns To assist in accomplishing the goals set for MSP, several resource centers were created.
