The ISU Writing Center is located in the Library (2nd floor) but is administered elsewhere. In-person and distance/virtual assistance is available.

Do you have a question about research? Reference assistance is available in a variety of ways.

Students can learn about the library research process through on-line interactive library tutorials and research guides.

Students may receive subject-based instruction focused on their specific research needs by contacting a librarian subject specialist.

Ask Desk
The Reference Desk aka the "Ask" Desk is one part of the 1st floor public services desk. You can ask for help from the Circulation Staff (during our 24/5 open hours), or ask anyone sitting on the Reference side. Library staff and student assistants provide level-1 / first contact assistance. If they are unable to assist you, you will be referred to one of the librarians listed on the Subject Specialist page.
